SALT LAKE CITY — Retired Deseret News copy editor Charles Glen Silcox died on March 25, 2016 at the age of 89.
Cox was born June 26, 1926, to Gwendolyn Mercy Simmons and Charles Barnard Silcox. He was the husband of Virginia George Silcox.
After service in the U.S. Navy during World War II, he attended the University of Utah, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature.
He is survived by his wife; son Geoffrey (Diane); daughter Teresa; and grandchildren Michael Anderson, Benjamin Silcox and Sarah Silcox.
His brother, Ramon Frederick Silcox, preceded him in death.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Ambrose Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal took place in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
