Frank Sporcich

HELPER — Frank Albert Sporcich, 93, died Jan. 4, 2016 at Parkdale Care Center in Price. 
Frank was born March 29, 1922 in Sunnyside, Utah to Andrew and Mary Sporcich. He married Ruby D. Wilson Lunelli July 9, 1966 in Helper, and to this union he was blessed with Ruby’s three children from a previous marriage. Frank considered her children as his own and they affectionately kept him involved in all family functions.
Frank was a lifelong resident of Carbon County and a member of the Catholic Church. In his youth, he worked for Helper City and the D&RGW Railroad. He retired from the United Mine Workers of America, where he was a loader operator for the Diamanti and Braztah Mines. Frank was a staunch supporter of the U.M.W.A. District #22. 
His favorite pastimes included playing the harmonica, watching the grandkids play ball, riding his Cushman and touring Carbon County in the infamous “Green Hornet.” Frank was a very colorful individual who would support anyone financially because he had a heart of gold.
Frank is survived by Ruby’s children, Patricia (John), Perla, Helper; Ann (Larry) Young, Sandy; daughter-in-law Trish Lunelli, Price; sister Francis Pinarelli, Provo; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews. 
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Ruby; step-son Alan Lunelli; sisters, Rossie Bleggi, Katie Tervort and Helen Marasco; brothers, Andrew, Rudy and Frank.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
