Funeral Mass for Kathryn Loffredo

A few days ago I had the opportunity to join the family and friends of Kathryn Loffredo, who celebrated her life with a funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church in Ogden. Kathryn Loffredo, mother of our diocesan chief financial officer Joan Loffredo, was a beacon of joy and faith in our diocese. She had an infectious smile and a zest for life that made her a friend of many. She loved the Catholic Church and she never tired of supporting the many activities that make up our community of faith. I was not surprised to learn that her father played a significant role in the building of Saint Joseph Church in Ogden. As Father Erik Richtsteig said so beautifully in his homily at Kathryn's funeral Mass, she followed in her father's footsteps as she built up the Church of living stones, encouraging the faith of her children and of so many more. She will be greatly missed and I invite you to join me in praying for the happy repose of her soul, as well as the consolation of her wonderful family.
