WEST VALLEY CITY — Guadalupe Escobedo Valdez, 79, died June 6, in the company of her family. Valdez was born Oct. 12, 1929, in Detroit, Mich., to Gonzalo Barrios Escobedo and Ysabell Buenaventura Lopez. She married Manuel F. Valdez March 15, 1956. She is survived by her sister Mary E. Lopez; daughter, Victoria (Andrew Jensen) Valdez; granddaughter, Dezerae Sharpe; grandson Jesse Chavez; special friend Salvador Reyes; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family members. A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Committal was in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
