Hundreds of people gathered in the rotunda of the Utah State Capitol on March 5 to urge legislators to pass the Healthy Utah bill.

A rally at the Utah State Capitol March 5 urged legislators to pass the proposed Healthy Utah legislation, which was supported by the Senate but not by the House of Representatives, which March 4 passed a separate bill. At the rally, speakers included both Republican and Democratic legislators, doctors, religious leaders and a woman who would benefit from Healthy Utah. Among the hundreds who attended was a group of Catholics from Saint Joseph Parish in Ogden. Speakers at the rally urged members of the public to contact their legislators to ask them to support Healthy Utah. Last month, Bishop John C. Wester asked Catholics to prayerfully consider urging  urge "our elected officials to vote in a manner that will protect the sanctity and dignity of life for thousands of Utahns."
