IC staff win Better Newspaper awards

In the 2015 Utah Press Association Better Newspaper Contest, the Intermountain Catholic took two awards in the Group III circulation category: 2nd place, best feature photograph went to Jenn Sparks; and 3rd place, best feature story went to Marie Mischel. The awards were presented March 6 during the UPA convention banquet. Sparks’ winning photograph was published in the Aug. 29 Intermountain Catholic and showed a group of students on their first day of class at Kearns/Saint Ann School. Mischel’s feature story, “Two commended for actions during 2013 shooting at Saint James the Just Catholic Church in Ogden,” was published Dec. 19 in the Intermountain Catholic.
