PRICE — Irene B. Mezek, 84, died June 11, at Castleview Hospital in Price. Mezek was born Aug. 26, 1924, in Price, Utah, to Charles and Margaret Cariano Bonomo. She married Frank Mezek Sept. 21, 1947, at Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church in Price. He died July 19, 1997. She attended Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Elementary School. After graduation, she worked for J.C. Penny Company where she left behind a community of friends and retired in 1991, after 49 years of dedicated service. She was involved in the bowling community of Price, she bowled for Mitchell’s Mummies for many years. Over the years, she attended many tournaments throughout the country. She loved to travel. She was inducted into the King Koal-Woman’s Bowling Association Hall of Fame for her meritorious service in 2001. Once she was no longer able to bowl, she volunteered her time. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great-grand nieces and nephews; great-great-grand family members; and many lifelong friends. A funeral Mass was celebrated at Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church. Committal was in Price City Cemetery.
