Janette Anton died peacefully on March 1, 2016 in her home after her valiant battle with cancer. 
Janette was born Dec. 29, 1933 in Letcher, S.D. to Eduard and Germaine Goethals. Janette married Donald Dean Anton Nov. 21, 1955. She moved with her family from South Dakota to Salt Lake City in 1964. She was a bookkeeper and finished her career in 1998 at Entry Systems.  
Janette was dedicated to her faith, family, and community. She loved to volunteer her time to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, the Catholic Woman’s League, Vincentino’s, and the VA Medical Center. Janette loved time with her family. She was very diligent in sending cards for birthdays, holidays, and special occasions to all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Janette was very welcoming, loving and happy. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 
Janette is survived by her five children: Steven Anton (Connie), Barbara Johnson (Mark), Kathryn Hunt (Lance), Bryan Anton (Tammy) and Donna Nichols (Joe); 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and sisters Anne Dobson and Margaret Amundson.  
She was preceded in death by husband Donald, her parents, and two brothers: Edwin Goethals and Jack Goethals. 
A celebration of Janette’s life was held at Starks Funeral Parlor. A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
