Joshua Andrew Santistevan, age 31, passed away on October 5, 2023. He was born on June 22, 1992 at Cottonwood Hospital in Murray, to John A. and Julie A. Gutierrez Santistevan.

Joshua was a very personable and charismatic person. When Joshua met someone, he would take the time to get to know them. When people met Josh, he would leave a lasting impression; that impression was nothing shy of amazing. Joshua was a handsome young man with beautiful eyes that would get him compliments everywhere from everyone. Joshua enjoyed reading and listening to books online, along with many other loves.

His favorite NFL team was the Pittsburg Steelers; he also enjoyed Japanese cartoons/Anime, Dragon Ball Z, JuJutsu Kaisen, Bleach to name a few. Joshua also really enjoyed playing games online, Call of Duty, Gods of War to name a few. Joshua was very inquisitive. He asked questions about everything and anything. Joshua would ask his dad about the Air Force and the aircraft he worked on. Joshua’s first two years of life were spent in Saudi Arabia. Joshua’s dad was a contractor for McDonnell Douglas. Joshua and his family had to leave Saudi Arabia due to his health issues.

Joshua graduated from Taylorsville High School. After graduating Joshua attended Salt Lake Community College for welding. Joshua had a few jobs during his lifetime. Joshua worked at SkyWest Airlines in building maintenance for 7-1/2 years. Joshua’s last job was with the Salt Lake County Parks Dept. Joshua will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Rest in peace, Josh.

Survived by his father John A. Santistevan, mother Julie A. Santistevan, sister Ashley M. Santistevan, brother John J. Santistevan and fiancé Lizzie Montenegro, grandmother Shirley Medina (Gutierrez) husband Tom Medina, godparents Max and Elaine Lozano, aunts and uncles Kelly Gutierrez, Viola and Doug Cameron, Brenda and Stan Fenton-Santistevan and many more; nephew and nieces Ysidro and Yzabell Santistevan-Contreras, Jeorge and Kai Santistevan, Erick Cramer; cousins Daniel, Ruby and Andy Gutierrez; Juanita, Angelo, Thomas, Andrea and Sammy Gutierrez; Roscoe, his Pomeranian.; grandparents Jasper R. Santistevan, Patricia A. Santistevan, Joe A. Gutierrez, uncle Michael R. Gutierre, great-grandparents Arthur Lobato, Eddie Lobato (Archuleta), Sarah Manzanares (Casias).

A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Patrick Catholic Church on October 14, 2023, followed by interment at Redwood Memorial Cemetery.
