January 18, 1954 ~ October 28, 2020

Larry (The Ripper) Gonzales was called home and passed away peacefully on October 28, 2020 at the age of 66 after a bout with COVID-19 followed up by another bout with pneumonia, twice that took a toll on his lungs.

He is survived by his children Larry Gonzales Jr. and Phylicia Gonzales, along with his beloved four-legged companion Camilla; grandchildren Ciro, Lucas, Siah, Jahnessa and Janikka; siblings Norma, Annette, Billy Sr. and Ruth; along with many more family and friends.

Born January 18, 1954 to Eduvigio Gonzales and Erminia Gurula, Larry was a devoted, courageous father whose amazing personality would light up a room and brighten anyone’s day. He never made friends, he only made family and was always willing to lend a listening ear. He enjoyed playing pool and was an avid boxing fan, not only watching but having competed as well in his younger years, and even more importantly, was carrying that competitive spirit outside the ring, into the ring of life. He was a cancer survivor and fought to make the most of every day.

He was also active in the Catholic Church and enjoyed being a part of the faculty at Juan Diego Catholic High School. His school spirit was rarely rivaled as he enjoyed representing the school and attending many of the school’s sporting events. You cannot find many former students or faculty members who did not know him and every one of them could tell stories for days with great encounters they had with him, and he as well enjoyed everyone he met and worked with.

There are no events scheduled. You can still show your support by sending flowers directly to the family, or plant a tree in memory of Larry Gonzales.
