June 25, 1957 – Oct. 9, 2016
Our beloved Margie passed away Oct. 9, 2016 after a long and heroic battle. Although she fought so hard to stay, we take comfort in knowing she is at peace, with no more pain and suffering.
Margie was born in Durango, Colo. to Yvonne Cruz Marquez and Victor Marquez, Sr. She graduated from Cyprus High School, Class of 1975. She married Marcos Guerrero on Sept. 21, 1985.
Margie enjoyed the many years she worked at Pleasant Green Elementary School as an ESL teacher, where she was loved and adored by the children as well as the staff. She developed very special friendships with many of the staff members and we are so grateful she was surrounded by so many special people. Margie’s greatest joy was spending time with family and friends, especially spoiling her grandchildren.
Margie is survived by her husband, Marcos; son Marco and his children, Anthony, Sabree and Gage; daughter Tori (Dallas) and their children, Christina, Elizza, Jamie and Amelia; son Conrad (Melinda) and their children, Dominic and Payten; special mama Yvonne of West Valley; father Victor (Susie) of Portland Ore.; siblings Paul (Renee), Mary and Roland; half-siblings Geno, Victoria, Ruben and Brady; mother-in-law Rosalia Leon; sisters-in-law Rosario, Maria and Nora; and extended family members and countless friends.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Conrad and Victor; father-in-law Jorge Guerrero; and many loved ones.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Oct. 19 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Special thanks to her daughter Tori and her sister Mary, who cared for Margie with such love and compassion. Our family would also like to thank the staff at Huntsman Cancer Institute who took such great care of Margie, especially Dulce, Vivian and Mary Vietti for their kindness and compassion showed to Margie.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Huntsman Cancer Institute in Margie’s memory. Online condolences may be offered at www.peelfuneralhome.com.
