Msgr. Fitzgerald retirement Mass

A few Sundays ago, on May 22, 2011, our diocese celebrated the retirement of our beloved Msgr. J. Terrence Fitzgerald. The Mass was attended by a large variety of people from throughout the diocese who gathered to pray with Msgr. Fitzgerald and to wish him well in his retirement. There were people present who represented various stages of Msgr. Fitzgerald’s ministry in our local Church. I could see that Monsignor was very touched by the outpouring of affection and gratitude that came his way. I wish to thank all those who had a hand in organizing this special celebration for Msgr. Fitzgerald and, as well, I thank the many persons who celebrated with us. As you read this article, Monsignor will have begun his retirement. We wish him many happy years ahead as he continues his service as a faithful, and now retired, priest of the diocese of Salt Lake City. Ad Multos Annos, Monsignor!
