Six Diocese of Salt City women, along with two from out of state, were trained in the Creighton Model of natural family planning during an eight-day seminar at St. Vincent de Paul Parish and the diocesan Pastoral Center. The seminar, which ended June 6, was led by Shira Wise of Washington and Dr. Joseph Stanford of the University of Utah. The women will complete their training in December at another seminar under the direction of the diocese’s Office of Family Life. With this training, the women, who are from various parishes within the diocese, can assist couples with family planning in accordance with Church teaching. Two of the women are bilingual English/Spanish.
