My Verse is Alive! Linda Simpson, a member of the Judge Memorial Catholic High School English Department, has been selected to attend the National Endowment for the Humanities Landmarks of American History and Culture Workshop, "Emily Dickinson: Poetry, Person, and Place." The July 2011 workshop is hosted by The Emily Dickinson Museum in Amherst, Mass.

Strong Couple! Tom and Cathy Cherry of Saint Catherine of Siena Newman Center were discerned in as coordinators for Catholic Engaged Encounter. They will serve a two-year term and represent the Salt Lake diocesan CEE community at the southwest board.

Big Shots! The 5th-grade girls and 6th-grade boys teams from the Madeleine Choir School participated in the Pocatello Crusader Basketball Tournament March 25-27. Both teams competed very well and the boys team brought back with them the third place trophy. The boys team also returned with the Tournament Sportsmanship Award, which they earned for their behavior, attitudes and manners.

Now Serving! The Catholic Woman’s League announces the slate of officers for 2011-2013: President Linda Burt, Vice President Cheryl Johnson, Recording Secretary Pat Bayer, Corresponding Secretary Carol Harley and Treasurer Irene Castillo.

Robots Rock! The Academy of Sciences Robotics program from Juan Diego Catholic High School participated in a competition funded by the ALSAM (Skaggs family) Foundation this year. The Robotics Team did extremely well at the Western States Regional FRC FIRST Robotics Competition held April 7-9 at the University of Utah. They finished 6th, were designated as a Captain Team, and received the design award for the best "Robotic Innovation and Control System."

Deepest Gratitude! The Rev. Monsignor John E. Kozar, national director of Pontifical Mission Societies in the United States, thanks the Most Rev. John C. Wester and the faithful of the Diocese of Salt Lake City for their contribution in the amount of $34,691.70 for World Mission Sunday 2010.
