Paul W. Willard Jr.

April 24, 1942 ~ December 21, 2023

Born to Paul and Faye Willard in Rock Springs, Wyoming, I was blessed to receive my education in the St. Joseph Catholic School system and graduated from the University of San Francisco thanks to the Jesuits of St. Mary Parish (Ogden) and some athletic success. It was my good fortune to be a teacher and coach for 43 years; 21 years in the Catholic school system at St. Francis in Provo and St. Joseph in Ogden. The next 22 years were spent at Park City High School and in both the private and public systems. My happiness in this special profession was rewarded with lasting friendships and experiences of many students, parents and colleagues.

My greatest treasure in life was the gift of my wife, Jill, who was at my side for nearly 50 years. She was the wife, mother and Nana who kept our family grounded, and our children and grandchildren were the benefactors of her undying love, care and support and are the better for that. Kevin (Angie) Willard, Debbie (Marshall) Palm, Sheri, Melissa Somers and Noelle (Patrick) Jones and our grandchildren are the legacy of our family and have brought me so much pride each and every day. They are our hope for the future and are a true gift in our family, and they continue to amaze with their accomplishments. Lauren, Mackenzie (Ali Sina) and Jake Willard, William (Isaac) and Maddie Palm, AJ and Jackson Somers, Nathanial and Katie Jones and Madeleine Sears.

My sister Kathleen preceded me in death, and I am fortunate to still have my brother Michael (Olga), whom I will miss. Five years ago, after Jill’s passing, I was fortunate to have Roxie Rynders bring a breath of fresh air into my life. We shared many memorable moments, and she was a true blessing for me and our family. The joy and support that we shared brought new love and light into my already full life. I am so blessed by so many. I have been truly blessed with a special family and many friends and hope that their memories are as positive as my own. Hug your loved ones.

Please join my family for a funeral Mass and Celebration of Life that will be scheduled and shared at a later date.
