Monsignor Robert Servatius, (left) who has been pastor of Blessed Sacrament Parish for the past 28 years, was honored with a resolution by the Sandy City Council on Aug. 26, presented by City Councilman Steve Fairbanks (right). In addition to his work at the parish and school, the resolution recognized his work with the city’s Healthy Sandy Partnership. “The focus of his ministry centers on his love for the people he is called to serve,” the resolution reads, in part. Mayor Tom Dolan (center), who plays golf with Msgr. Servatius, gave his personal congratulations to the priest, who celebrated the 50th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood in May. In his brief comments, Msgr. Servatius said he had been sent to Sandy to build Blessed Sacrament School and further develop the parish. “It’s been wonderful over those years to see the people join with me in achieving those goals,” he said. “I’ve enjoyed watching this city grow. … It’s marvelous what Sandy has become.”
