NOTRE DAME — Sister M. Theodora, 90, passed away Feb. 28, 2012 Sister M. Theodora was born Nov. 15, 1921, to William T. and Elizabeth Kirschner Abreu, in Colusa, Calif. Sister Theodora graduated from Saint Mary’s College of Nursing, San Francisco, Calif. in 1943, worked for three years and then entered the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1946. She gained her BS degree from Saint Mary of the Wasatch, Salt Lake City, and her MS from Boston University. She worked at Holy Cross Hospital as a nurse, then as director of nursing and assistant administrator. She moved to Saint Mary’s Notre Dame, Ind. in 2010, where she was active in the ministry of prayer until her death. Sr. Theodora is survived by her brother, William Abreu, four nephews and a sister-in-law. A funeral Mass was celebrated at Church of Our Lady of Loretto, Saint Mary’s, Notre Dame, Ind.
