Sofia Vigil-Torres died Feb. 26, 2016, at the age of 75, surrounded by her loving family. 
Sophia was born to Eufracio and Louisa Vigil on April 14, 1940 in Mont Rose, Colo. She lived in East Carbon and resided in Salt Lake City. She spent her life with her loving and supportive husband of 45 years, Raymundo Torres. 
Sophia was survived by her six children: Sarah Hilliard (Steve), Victoria Brooks (Jimmy), Veronica Satcher (Bobby), Grace Torres (Encarnation), Felipa Villagrana (Armando), and Raymundo Torres Jr. (Dolores); 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. 
Her life’s calling was to take care of people. She received a CNA degree and worked in numerous rest homes. Sofia was known for her wonderful Mexican cooking and she loved listening to music and dancing; most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family laughing. 
She was the sixth child in house full of eight brothers and sisters. She is also survived by her siblings Leve Vigil (Carol), Lucinda Perez (Tony), Fidel Vigil (Pauline), and Floyd Vigil (Arlene). 
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Emilio Vigil, Juanita Vigil, Clara Lobato and Junior Vigil, all of whom greeted her into their loving arms at the gates of Heaven. 
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
