After war broke out in the Holy Land on Oct. 7, students attending Utah Catholic Schools prayed for peace. Pope Francis has called for a World Day of Prayer for Peace on Friday, Oct. 27, encouraging “people of different Christian denominations, other religions, and all those who advocate for peace to participate as they see fit. ... I invite all the particular Churches to take part by organizing similar initiatives which involve the people of God,” the pope said, according to Vatican News.
The central event of the day will be an hour of prayer at 6 p.m. in St. Peter’s Square, with the goal of invoking peace for the world, Vatican News reported.
