Valerie T. Tezak

OGDEN — Val Tezak, 64, passed away, Aug. 15, 2015.  

Tezak was born to Emma and Lewis V. Tezak on Aug. 22, 1950 in Salt Lake City. She attended Utah Technical College and the Post Peace Officer Standards and Training Academy, where she received her Peace Officer certification and served for 37 years with the Utah Department of Public Safety and the Department of Corrections, retiring in 2006.  

Tezak volunteered many hours tutoring at Saint Vincent de Paul School, assisting the students, faculty and administration in the school library. She also served as a volunteer for St. Vincent’s funeral lunches. She gave herself to service with the Ladies of Saint Jude Maronite Catholic Church, and as a part-time secretary in the St. Jude’s parish office. 

Tezak was preceded in death by her parents, Emma and Lewis, and friends Kathy and Cheryl. 

Tezak is survived by sister Barbara M. Herndon (John); and Matthew her nephew. 

A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Jude Maronite Catholic Church.
