William H. Walsh

William (“Bill”) H. Walsh passed away peacefully on Aug. 30, 2016.
William was born Nov. 11, 1926 in Las Animas, Colo. to Blanche O. Hadlee and James F. Walsh. He served his country during WWII in the Merchant Marines in the Pacific Theatre and as a soldier in the United States Army/Air Corps.
Upon return from the war he married Ila Rae Ralphs and had three daughters.
He retired from the U.S. Postal Service.  He continued to serve his community his entire life. He helped establish St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Kearns and served there in many capacities. 
He also served as a delegate for the Utah Democrats, and enjoyed teaching leather craft at the Kearns Senior Center.  
He spent the remaining years of his life at the Central Utah Veterans Home, where he made many friends and will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister and his wife, Ila Rae.
He is survived by sister Margaret Grissetti; three daughters, Charleen (Mike) Smith of West Jordan, Barbara (Ron) Miles of Magna, Utah and Vivian (Doug) Majors of Liberty, Mo.; four grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Sept. 2 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Interment followed at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
