Juan Diego CHS soccer player trains for 2012 FIFA Women's World Cup in Azerbajan

DRAPER — Emily Bruder was among 23 players called to attend a training camp June 11-18, in preparation for qualifying for the 2012 FIFA U-17 (under 17) Women’s World Cup in Azerbaijan. U.S. Soccer Director of Development Jill Ellis called the players from across the country to the training camp, held at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.

SALT LAKE CITY — Saint Ambrose Parish will soon get a new organ that will benefit the community. The parish purchased the 50-year-old Holtkamp organ from Saint Mark’s Cathedral. It will be rebuilt in September and installed next summer.

Services for Msgr. Francis B. Pellegrino

CARMICHAEL, Calif. — Monsignor Francis B. Pellegrino died peacefully June 11 at Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Carmichael, Calif. His good friend Father Thomas A. Bland, pastor of Saint John the Evangelist Parish in Carmichael, had administered Holy Viaticum and the final rites of the Church and was in attendance, along with Msgr. Pellegrino’s remaining family.
