DRAPER — Ashley Ramos and Kristen Shimkus both excelled in their years at Juan Diego Catholic High School, graduating with honors, but their paths were very different. Ramos was involved with music and theater as well as Peer Ministry; Shimkus was an outstanding soccer player who also was a member of Student Government. At graduation, Ramos was presented with the Senior Academic Excellence Award in Theology and was an AP Scholar; Shimkus was one of five students honored with the Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta Service Award; she also earned the St. Francis of Assisi Award and was one of two named Juan Diego Girl. >>>

El Día del padre sin un papá

Conforme el Día del padre se aproxima, este será un día dulce y a la vez amargo para algunos de nuestros vecinos. Por lo menos para dos niños, será el pasarlo con un padre que tal vez será deportado después de haber cometido el error de ir a la corte local para pagar una multa por una infracción no violenta. Para otros tres niños será el primer Día del Padre desde que su papa fue deportado por haber trabajado 10 horas al día para un empleador que le pagó en efectivo. >>>

Celebraran 5to aniversario en comunidad

HURRICANE – En el 2003 un grupo de cerca  20 católicos del sureste de Utah rentaron un pequeño espacio para poder tener un servicio Eucarístico. Años más tarde con la ayuda y apoyo de la ‘Catholic Extention Society’ y los esfuerzos de recaudación de fondos de la comunidad, el espacio rentado se transformó en cerca de 3,100 pies cuadrados lo que hoy en día es conocido como el Centro Católico Saint Paul en Hurricane. El centro fue dedicado el 20 de mayo del 2009; el 22 de junio después de la Misa de las 12:30 p.m. la comunidad de St. Paul  celebrará su 5to. Aniversario. >>>

HEBER CITY — Compromiso, trabajo duro y un generoso donador han abierto el camino para que un feligrés de St. Mary of the Assumption realice un MBA de una Universidad de la ‘Ivy League’ después de un paso estelar por la Universidad de Utah.
Stanford Escalante se graduó el 1ero. de mayo ‘Cum Laude’ (con mención honorifica) de la escuela de negocios de la Universidad de Utah.
