WEST JORDAN - Michael "Mike" Sorich, 91, died June 28, 2010 at the Utah State Veteran's Nursing Home.
Sorich was born Nov. 24, 1918, in Highland Boy, Utah to John and Louise Sorich. He married Arta LeFevre on Sept. 2, 1943, and they were married 50 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in New Guinea and in the Philippines. He was one of the volunteers who helped build the original Saint Joseph the Worker Church in 1964. He retired from Kennecott Copper Corporation after 42 years of employment. He enjoyed camping, fishing, bowling and watching the Utah Jazz.
He is survived by his sons, Michael (Kathryn), Paul (Linda); grandchildren David (Lara), Jonathan, Jeffrey, Mark (Terri) Sorich; Angela (Jonathon) Vredeveld, William Buist; great-grandchildren Matilda and Charles Sorich; sister, Amanda Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at Redwood Memorial Estates.
