Recently, the Utah Legislature passed a bill that would provide opportunities for individuals in Nuevo Leon, Mexico to come to Utah and work. Throughout the debate on this and other immigration bills, questions have been raised about the effect of immigrant workers on the United States job market. With unemployment at or near 10 percent across the nation, aren’t immigrants, undocumented or otherwise, taking “our” jobs? This is usually followed with concerns that undocumented immigrants don’t contribute to the economy through taxes.

SALT LAKE CITY — The 40 Days for Life campaign will run from March 9, Ash Wednesday, to April 17, the Sunday before Holy Week, in 337 cities in the United States and around the world. The 40 Days for Life campaign is a community-based campaign that draws attention to the evils of abortion through prayer, fasting, vigils and community outreach.

LAYTON - Los feligreses de la iglesia Católica de Santa Rosa de Lima dan comienzo a su tradicional "Lenten Soup Suppers".
El primer viernes después del miércoles de ceniza esta celebración cuaresmal comienza todos los viernes en la tarde.
Bernadette McNichol, feligrés de la parroquia ha participado en esta celebración desde hace 13 años.
"Es para la comunidad es divertido hacerlo", dijo McNichol.

DRAPER - Juan Diego Catholic High School debaters recently competed against 241 teams at the University of California-Berkeley. Seniors Aniela Butler and Gus Schwab led the team's success, obtaining five bids to attend the selective Tournament of Champions at the University of Kentucky - a first in Juan Diego history. Butler placed 17th out of 482 speakers; together, the team placed fifth.
