Al reunirnos este año para celebrar el día de Acción de Gracias, nuestra nación dará gracias por todas las bendiciones que disfrutamos en nuestro país. Este acto de agradecimiento supone un camino de dos vías: un regalo recibido y los agradecimientos dados. Por lo tanto, nuestra atención está enfocada en el "quien" y en el "que", el que regala y el regalo. La acción de gracias, entonces, implica una relación. Y mientras que Dios es quien da todos los regalos buenos, nuestra gratitud está dirigida hacia Cristo, a través de quien y por quien todas las cosas existen y todos los regalos son dados.

SALT LAKE CITY — Each year, hundreds of children’s names are placed on ornaments on trees in churches throughout the Diocese of Salt Lake City as part of the Gift of the Drummer program. These children aren’t looking for the finest gifts, only clothes. In these tough economic times, their needs continue to grow.

SALT LAKE CITY — This Sunday, the Church will celebrate the close if its liturgical year with the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Universal King. In the small rural parish in which I grew up, this feast was a special day celebrated with great festivity. This great solemnity was the day that the Rural Parish Workers of Christ the King, a secular institute of the Archdiocese of Saint Louis, recommitted themselves to the cross of Christ. In silent, but solemn ritual, each member of the community stood before the altar and promised to faithfully serve Christ by ministering to the poor and marginalized.
