DRAPER — Students attending public and private schools in grades 5-12 in the greater Salt Lake area participated at the Salt Lake Valley Science & Engineering Fair March 24-26, with Utah Catholic students achieving 47 of the more than 250 awards. SALT LAKE CITY — Elementary and high school students at public and private schools in the greater Salt Lake area participated at the Salt Lake Valley Science & Engineering Fair March 24-26 at the University of Utah. During the competition, the students presented their results using a project display board; they also were interviewed by at least four judges. When the results were tallied, Utah Catholic school students had won 47 of the more than 250 awards, with Juan Diego Catholic High School senior Alexander George-Kennedy being named the grand prize winner (see story, left.) >>>

Cuando compartimos una comida con familiares y amigos, es probable oír en algún momento una invitación de bienvenida a cenar - Ven a la mesa... a comer... mange! . Lo mismo sucede en la Misa. Durante las últimas semanas hemos visto cómo se prepara el banquete Eucarístico, y cómo nos preparamos para recibirlo. Ahora, la invitación se produce mientras el sacerdote eleva el Cáliz y como el anfitrión proclama: “He aquí el Cordero de Dios, que quita los pecados del mundo” (Juan 1:29). Luego proclama las palabras del libro del Apocalipsis, “Bienaventurados los que son llamados a la cena del Cordero” (Apocalipsis 19: 9). Respondemos con palabras que expresan tanto la humildad como la confianza: “Señor, no soy digno de que entres en mi casa, pero una palabra tuya bastará para sanarme” (Mateo 8:8). Se nos invita a mirar el Pan Eucarístico y expresar la reverencia, la confianza y la fe. >>>
